The Matrix

First thing that came to mind when looking at these images, ‘creepy.’ It’s as if a layer of surrealism was slapped on top of Neo & Trinity. And I’ve gotta admit, I’m usually a fan of surrealist paintings. But this one is just straight up unnerving to look at.

It is what it is though, I’m not going to hold it against the rendering system. Personally though I was more hoping to see a world made of binary. That’s probably my fault for not being more descriptive with the prompt though. Turns out we get two iconic characters from The Matrix instead, but that’s fine too I guess.

Concept of the Matrix

It definitely is something to think about though. The concept of the matrix I mean. I think several major & minor religions throughout our history have all believed in some variation of “this life is just an illusion.” And honestly, I more or less agree with the premise considering all of my thoughts & experiences so far. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to give up on making this world a better place with what little I can offer however. In The Matrix‘s case though, it’s a secular and more contemporary interpretation of that very premise.

The world that we live in is an illusive veil and there is more than what meets the eye. In the case of the Matrix, the entire world that humanity lives in is pretty much a digital construct, a simulation of sorts. “Freeing your mind” is a process that inevitably allows a person to see the world for what it is, a realm of 1s and 0s. I wonder what it takes to free your mind in this world though. At the very least I hope to come close to that prospect, this website will help with that.
